Each and every element in a control loop must be put in a precision state if the loop is classified as a critical control loop. The above cartoon has six different devices or elements, that must be tested, calibrated and documented with known certified equipment.
If you test your field devices with equipment that is not certified, there will always be a doubt if the device is really giving you a true reading.
Your calibration is only as good as your calibrator!
Tuning is the next to the last step on the precision maintenance ladder. We use both gain base tuning and lambda tuning. Our process engineers have years of experience tuning industrial process control loops. Remember, you can not tune out a faulty field devise; you can only mask the problem. All field work must be done prior to tuning.
Our engineers can also suggest and modify your control strategy.
The final step on the ladder is to optimize the process set point.
